ABOUT ME
My primary characteristic is curiosity.
Every other quality of mine stems from the need to learn and see and discover. I channel this curiosity through an everyday ambition and love of learning. I am now a first-year student at Yale University planning to study literature and social sciences, but as a 2018 graduate of Cadillac High School in Cadillac, MI and 2017 graduate of Baker College with a degree in business management, I have developed a diverse set of interests and skills.
As a Yale student, I have engaged in a variety of activities related to writing, politics and government. This year, I served as a chair for Yale Model Congress and vice-chair for Yale Model United Nations, and I am a member of the Party of the Left of the Yale Political Union. I am also a staff writer and the Sponsorship Director for The Politic, Yale's undergraduate political publication. I also participate in organizing on campus, including organizing at the Solidarity With Survivors: Rally for a Better Yale to support sexual misconduct survivors and Students Unite Now! to organize students around financial aid issues.
In addition, I engage in community activities in New Haven and at home in Michigan through volunteering with No Closed Doors, a program that provides career skills to New Haven residents, and Michigan Youth in Government, a mock government program for middle and high school students in Michigan, of which I am an alumna. I am also a college advising fellow for Matriculate, where I support low-income, high-achieving high schoolers in accomplishing their college goals.
Outside of all my school activities, I am a passionate writer and voracious reader, and you can catch me on my (blessed and all-too-rare) free weekends in the art studio, kitchen baking, or with a good book.
